Overview

With the Marvelous Mania HUD, you can navigate to stores, venues and locations.  At each location you will find information about the location, venue or items for sale or to find (as in a hunt).  To make navigation easier, items are grouped into categories, such as:

  • Brand - Is a store or chain of stores that sell goods.
  • Sales - Individual items that are on sale.
  • Hunt - Places that have free or low cost items hidden in their store.
  • Music Venue * - Places that offer live artists or DJs that play for your tips.
  • Art Venue * - Places where you can find artistic objects, or entire parcels or regions dedicated to the visual arts.
  • Scenic Location * - Places that are pretty and fun to explore.
  • Interesting Location * - Places that offer help, advice, and many other things.

Places marked with a * in these categories get free advertising. If you know of a place that isn't on our HUD that is in these categories, they may qualify for Free Advertising too.

Categories

Categories are groups of items.  The HUD can display up to 100 items at a time in each category, but when there are more than 100 items, we display them in pages, one after another on the HUD.  The HUD can display more than 250 categories.

Category - Gear Menu

  • Reset - Resets the position of the HUD when opened and when minimized to their default locations.  Note, you can change the locations, by editing their position on the HUD.
  • Restart - Restarts the script that runs the HUD.  Restarting does not affect Favourites or Positioning.
  • Custom - Allows you to identify the name of non-public category to load.  Used by Category Organizers to verify submissions that require manual verification before the category is published to the HUD.
  • Clear - Clears the Favourites.
  • Memory - Checks to see how much free memory is available.

Items

Categories are groups of Items.  Items can be locations or objects that you can find or buy.  Each category defines the term to use for the items in its listings.  Each item (and the favourites) below can list additional information besides just a name.  Using the "i" icon (for information), you can learn about location's group, marketplace store, and up to 3 websites.

Item - Gear Menu

  • Reset - Resets the position of the HUD when opened and when minimized to their default locations.  Note, you can change the locations, by editing their position on the HUD.
  • Restart - Restarts the script that runs the HUD.  Restarting does not affect Favourites or Positioning.
  • Admin - Requests administrative access to the currently loaded custom or published category.  You need a specially modified HUD for this button to do anything.  See Using the Administrator HUD Extension for more information.
  • Search - Allows you to search all of the items in the current page of a category for one or more search terms separated by commas.  This is especially useful for brand searches, when you are looking for women's clothing.  It means you can search for multiple terms, such as "female, woman, women, lady, ladies, girl" with a single search.  If you have searched, you can reuse the search terms in future searches.  Note: searches are case insensitive.
  • Clear - Clears the Favourites.
  • Memory - Checks to see how much free memory is available.

Favourites

Favourites are stored for 7 days, unless you clear them manually.  Favourites are designed primarily for shoppers who want to open the HUD, browse through our categories and items while at home, then mark the items or places they want to go in the next few days.  They use the favourites area to then navigate to the places they want to go.  It's designed to optimize the shopping and teleporting experience.
